June 3, 200719 yr i have a XP on my old comp and Vista on my new so what anti virus should i use for both? for firewall i will use ZoneAlarm Pro(Current) or Comodo.
June 3, 200719 yr For an AV, I recommend Avast to many people. As far as firewalls, I would never recommend ZoneAlarm due to the numerous bugs and issues it is plagued with.
June 3, 200719 yr OMG please, there are like tones of discussions about av's and firewalls why make new one? please search before posting.anyway for your xp i recommend you use KAV with Comodo or Outpost.as for your vista im using KIS and i just love the flexibility.Oh and im looking forward to see comodo 3 beta cause it will be VISTA compatible
June 13, 200719 yr http://www.comodo.com/ is all your needeverything is FREEEEEE of firewall, anti-malware, vengine, anti-virustheir firewall is top not.
June 13, 200719 yr Use BitDefender.....Secure every bit of info....!U can check Antivirus Review 2007, BitDefender has score 1st Rank
June 13, 200719 yr I agree neoBitdefender is best, i m using it more than a yr in XP and now in Vista abt 7 months only problem u suffer is memory use ~ 25 mb is used Edited June 13, 200719 yr by Innocent Devil
June 13, 200719 yr The problem with a lot of these review websites is that they get paid off to put Product X at the highest spot.
June 14, 200719 yr There is nothing on the market, that will protect you from everything, all of the time. Here's a "Golden Rule" for you, The first 10,000 - 50,000 people to encounter a new virus, will generally be infected by it. This is (why we have daily updates...) called response time. You are your own (best) first line of defence ... beyond that whatever you use is probable just fine. For those that just can't resist opening strange attachments there is (frankly no hope...) always the term Web Cattle I've grown rather fond of.I use Symantec Corp on XP, but it a bit flakey on Vista so I'm doing a bit of shopping for new options. I'm currently trying to decide between either Panda or MS's Antigen
June 14, 200719 yr Symantec is horrific and takes a toll on the resources. Some of the best ones are actually free. Panda doesn't do a very good job at all, though Microsoft's AV is substancially better (better than even Norton and McAfee).

June 15, 200719 yr Active Virus Shield, free 1 year subscription just provide an email address, this is an AOL branded version of Kaspersky AV.http://www.activevirusshield.com/http://download.nullsoft.com/avs/AVS_v25.exeOMG never knew about this, thanks for the info man.wish i knew about this sooner cause now version 7 of KAV is out
June 20, 200719 yr Just get a router with a hardware firewall and anti-virus. Best solution!!!I highly recommend http://www.astaro.com/products/astaro_security_gateway .They have a great software solution as well. But I personally never use anti-virus or firewall on my PC at home.
June 21, 200719 yr For Vista I would recommend Trend Micro. Initially they did have some compatability issues but they have been resolved. Also CA I know works with Vista. Kaspersky is my standard recomendation, but I have run into problems installing Internet Security 6 on my Vista system.
