glocK_94
Revolutions Pack 3.6 is way outdated! Where did you find it? If you just delete the files, you'll be unable to boot.Do what Awergh told you: "to restore, [...] you need to go to dos and type 'restore'"If that doesn't work and you didn't save... you're good to reinstall.Well, if you're sure everything is lost, you *could* try to install a new version on top of it... glocK_94
DOS = MS-DOS.Go to "start", "shut down" and finally "restart in ms-dos"...If you want more info about stuff like that, Wikipedia is always a nice place to check.
philly
yes i went into ms-dos and typed restore.....but no luck, revolutions pack is still there. How about in command/prompt if i use scanreg/restore??oh f8ck it..what have i done
glocK_94
No. Rev Pack replaces lots of essential files. Restoring the registry will only make things worse. You would need to get all the files that have changed and replace them by original ones (shell32.dll, user.exe...)Try to unpack the Rev Pack 3.6 and list what files it installed. eidenk
How about in command/prompt if i use scanreg/restore??oh f8ck it..what have i done In addition to what glock_94 says above, which is the first thing to do, you may indeed want to use scanreg/restore or restore an old registry from dos. What may be bad news is that there is one version of the revpack that deletes the sysbackup folder and I am almost sure it is this one. If so all your registry backups are gone for good. For some very odd reason tihy refused to fix that one line in the install batch file at the time. erpdude8
i downloaded it from softpediato restore, [...] you need to go to dos and type 'restore'but where is dos??.....please explain more Softpedia is not alone in having revolutions pack v3.6. even Majorgeeks.com has the revo v3.6 pack as well. in fact, many download sites have them.philly, do you still have your Win98se CD or Win98se setup files? boot from a Win98se startup disk, load the cd-rom drivers and run win98se setup to re-install Win98se.from now on, philly, obtain the latest revolutions pack at this page:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=58357 Edited March 2, 2007 by erpdude8

Try to unpack the Rev Pack 3.6 and list what files it installed"im a novice so can someone please tell me in plain english what this involves. shell32 >>>whats that?? where can i find it??PS... i use CCleaner that automatically backs up the registry, so can i use that program to restore a previous reg??? Tihiy
Well, if you don't have Windows 98 CD, you can't go back.RP 3.6 does not back up files by default. You can go only further. There are 3 ways:- 1st way: Download&install RP6 or 7. May work as expected.- 2nd way: Download&install latest USP. During install, always select to replace newer files from older. Restore your registry from old backup.- 3rd way: Download&install latest 98SE2ME, including option 3!
