Windows 98 and Windows ME are unsupported by DirectX

Featured Replies

or will directx october run if you add D3DX9_32.DLL to it

Halohalo, not exactly: this link refers to SDK (Software Development Kit), whereas DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer shows that those systems are still supported: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en

On the other hand it's interesting that redistributable version doesn't mention Win98/ME: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Btw, you can easily unpack this library manually.

I have DirectX 9.0c version that will work on 9x, will upload somewhere if wanted (33.4Mb)

MDGx has DirectX 9.0c on his website if my memory serves me well.

It might also be found in the "last update" thread in the "Unofficial Win98 SE Service Pack" section.

As he says: HTH

Here is D3DX9_32.DLL with patched header to run under 9x:

http://rapidshare.com/files/8639801/d3dx9_32.zip.html

besides header, it seems it does not contains evil checks aganist 9x.

However, i can't check if it is really working, because there is no app which uses it now.

This pack with DirectX9c multilangual or only english version?
