footballking3420 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 What is this for? I know it says it's used by antivirus programs and others, but what exactly are the programs that depend on File System Filter Manager?
nuhi Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 vLite for one.Others never stumbled upon. Really good question.
hulkviper Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Does it mean vLite requires it, vlite can't run without it?
nuhi Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 It can run but the features it does require that manager so it will popup that it's missing and provide you with the install option.
Ver Greeneyes Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 That's a great compromise, nuhi; thanks.
Ponch Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Maybe also Outlook Express and its ability to not "show potentialy harmfull attachments"
Camarade_Tux Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I don't think so.Minifilters are not used by anything ATM. But firewalls and antivirus should use them soon since they have a lot of advantages over normal drivers (user-mode, easier to write...)
