Tomcat76 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Because it might break the installation of several programs that are installed at "GuiRunOnce". What's a good time frame? We don't know. It depends on the speed of the computer and the amount of programs to be installed. If you know the command, you can experiment with it yourself in SOURCESS\I386\HFSLPGUI.CMD.

Hfslip is incredibly useful and saves me a LOT of time...plus it's fun to use
Sgt_Strider Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 (edited) I'm using the latest version of HFSLIP, 1.21 and I can't get IE7 to install. I dump the IE7 exe file that I downloaded from MS into the HF folder and it doesn't work. Also, do you guys just place the WM11 file into the HF folder or you placed a modified WM11 file into the HF folder? If so, how do I make the modified WM11 file? Here is my log:HFSLIP Version - 61216HFSLIP Path - C:\Hfslip\OS in SOURCESS - XP SP2 EnglishService Pack SlipstreamedDrivers - DRIVER.CAB UpdatedCD Install Path - DefaultCDTAG - WIN51===============================================================================Files in your FIX folder:Files in your HF folder:IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exeKB835935-SP2-ENU.exeWindowsMedia-KB911564-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB873339-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB885836-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB886185-x86-enu.exeWindowsXP-KB888302-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB890859-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB891781-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB893756-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB896358-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB896423-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB896424-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB896428-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB898461-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB899587-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB899591-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB900485-v2-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB900725-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB901017-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB901214-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB902400-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB904706-v2-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB905414-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB905749-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB908519-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB908531-v2-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB910437-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB911280-v2-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB911562-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB911567-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB911927-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB912919-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB913580-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB914388-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB914389-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB916595-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB917422-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB917953-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB918439-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB919007-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB920213-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB920214-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB920670-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB920683-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB920685-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB920872-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB921398-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB922582-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB922616-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB922819-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB923191-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB923414-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB923980-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB924191-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB924270-x86-ENU.exeFiles in your HFCABS folder:swflash.cabFiles in your HFSVCPACK folder:Files in your HFSVCPACK_SW folder:Files in your HFTOOLS folder:bbie.exeCDIMAGE.EXE===============================================================================HFSLIP run time: 23m08s Edited December 19, 2006 by Sgt_Strider
Super-Magician Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 @Sgt_Strider:What exactly doesn't work? Is IE7 simply not installed? Do you get an error message? For WMP11, use a program such as 7-Zip or WinRAR. Right-click on wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe and extract the contents into a folder. Rename the folder WMP11 and place the folder itself (i.e. not just the files) into HF.

Kiki Burgh Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) hi Sgt_Strider! TC has added additional instructions under Important things in HFSLIP's official website which contains instructions for IE7, WMP11 & OPUC4.CAB Edited December 22, 2006 by Kiki Burgh
Sgt_Strider Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I notice that Windows will not install the default theme after WM11 is installed. Is it because this update isn't installed?WindowsXP-KB898543-v3-x86-ENU.exe
Super-Magician Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 You need that update for the post-install wizard (i.e. Welcome to Windows) to work. If you're installing IE7, please also make sure you restart the computer.
Alienator Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Does Slipstreaming IE7 & WMP11 after clean integrating SP3, will require also all that old hotfix's for IE7 and WMP11 ?Or i can just use nlite to integrate IE7 & WMP11 Slipstreamer to WMP11 ?
cluberti Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 You'll need to install WMP11 and IE7 hotfixes not included in SP3. However, for IE7, at least, it's as easy as installing MS08-024 and you're up to date.
Tomcat76 Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Not really. There's still the jscript.dll update and the vgx.dll security update. I suppose Windows Update just shows the most crucial one for now until the hotfixes are updated to have SP3GDR and SP3QFE binaries.
