Where would I delete those files from, If i did not want them in the install (nlite file).. So that I wouldn't have to delete those icons every single time I reinstall XP

This is a shot in the dark but are you using the latest version of Nlite? I had this exact problem happen with an older version, then a newer version is released and the problem went away.

If you mentioned that you are already using the newest version then disregard this. :)

wow what a strage problem. Thats actually kinda cool I never thought you could get all those control panel applits to show up under my computer. I have just 2 that I added. Perhaps I might add 1 or 2 more.

As for your question just add a reg entry with the strings you want deleted to cmdlines or during runonce that should remove them once your into windows.

I have verison 1.2.1 Which, accordin to nliteos.com is the latest and *greatest* version.. lol.. Um and to madhits...

As for your question just add a reg entry with the strings you want deleted to cmdlines or during runonce that should remove them once your into windows.

What would that look like... I am a complete command line/dos id***.. I was born after the invention of the GUI (thank god) and I love the GUI. I havent had a lot of time playing with command line. However, Playing with linux certainly has open that world up to me

Did you use nlite twice on the same folder ?

Try to start again from scratch : delete the folder, copy your CD again to this folder, start nlite.

So that I wouldn't have to delete those icons every single time I reinstall XP

If needed, you can automate this with a .reg file that would silenlty be run after each install.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\

Remove the entries you don't want.

Export the key to a .reg file. Lets name it mycomp.reg for instance.

Edit it with notepad, on the second line, add [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\]. Save.

Move mycomp.reg to the $OEM$ folder for your CD, edit the cmdlines.txt file, add this line at the end : "regedit /s mycomp.reg" (with the quotes).

You're done.
