quad core got ya worried?

Try 80 cores!

This is not a drill, this is serious: Intel is in the process of developing multi-core processors that are capable of increasing floating-point performance into the spheres that are reached by computing clusters today. The projected performance of Intel's80-core prototypes at the time it could become available is expected to hit one teraflop. At this point it's also interesting to note the floating point performance of a Pentium 4 processor: A 3 GHz model reaches 0.006 teraflops, which underlines the impressive capabilities of the 80-core prototype. We have to add that floating point performance is more important for scientific applications and number crunching than it is for desktop applications, but it might enable geologists to analyze drill test samples on their way home instead of processing it in expensive server farms.

The teraflop prototypes are large and rather sophisticated, but they host 80 FPU processing units on a single die.

the idea is that two cpus (or cores) are quicker than one alone, the idea is that two can do work in less time than one, and that is exactly the point
They came into existence not for speed, but to keep a system up. It's corporation hardware.

That's just sad.

Can 98SE work on this PC!?

I know this machine is hell fast because it has FSB1000.

Yea I were bayed that machine!

Now can't to use properly W98SE on this PC.

I need help to know which support i can add and which can't.

Motherboard is ASUS A8R-MX with bios for Vintage AH1 which is ready for Windows Vista but I changeg that version of bios with one from ASUS A8R-MX/SI motherboard(from Vintage AH1 v.0303 to CISNET v.0403),and it work great in WindowsXP.

From my old PC I only use PCI MusicCard,Wirreless PCI modem and HDD with 20GB(ATA).

I have 2 DVD burners but when install 98SE there is not any optical drive into my OS.Why? ***

GraphicCard is amazing because I use 128MB of ram and it work on 400MHz.

SouthBridge Drivers can't find for 98SE,any help please!!! ***

Marvel Lan Work!

SoundCard 7.1 can't use,any help!!!! :hello:

Can use this drivers in my OS?Any sugest please...

Asus Crosshair AMD Cool'n'Quiet Driver v1.3.2.0

ULi doesn't complete the driver for southbridge M1573, so there is no driver for M5287 SATA controller under Win98SE.

You can just install the WinXP(i386) M5287 driver manually from ULi Integrated 220, and the yellow question mark should disappear.

(Anyway, M5287 SATA controller will not work  )

PATA controller should be supported by Win98SE and identified as "ALi M5229 PCI Bus Master IDE controller".

But I am not sure if there is any problem with DVD burner and the board.

Latest Realtek AC'97 driver may not support ALC880. Because ALC880 is HD Audio Codec.

You can try old CNQ_1_0_8_1.EXE for CNQ support.

This is expected result. I wrote you before that there are no such drivers available.

Your audio is not AC97 so you cannot use AC97 driver.

Is there any chance to emulate this 7.1 chip in 98se?

Well, if it's not recognized as USB audio then it probably won't work. Put a dedicaded sound card in and disable the integrated soundchip and you're good.

You shouldn't have any problems with the DVD burners really. Apart from a jumper problem, I can't figure why they're not detected.

halohalo Uli drivers works!Thanx dude!

Petr give me some good idea what to do,i know that u are smart! :hello:

Optical drives can't make to run.Under XP it work great.I can't see it under 98SE explorer but when boot system in DOS from bootable CD it work normally.Does somebody know why?

New DVD burners may not support Win98SE officially.

Besides, the compatibility of ULi M1573 under Win98SE is another unstable factor.

So I guess that is the reason why the DVD burner doesn't work under Win98SE.

What's wrong here!?

You have to solve the IDE controller problem first.

It is weird that M5229 IDE controller does not work properly.

If you need the driver, you can find it from Win98se install CD.

Motherboard resources also conflicts, you should assign it manually to avoid the problem.
