Xyberz
Honestly the system is very minimal in today's standards but surprisingly you can shrink it down to operate on that system. I mean XP. It will also again be very minimal in it's operations too. It's pretty much a gamers setup. So it's meant only to play games, and internet. Basically about it. 1. RAM USAGE: 17.59 MB 2. Installation Size: 206 MB WINDOWS folder There's another one that has these specs:1. 18MB-38MB of RAM2. 116MB3. 99% of XP's functionality and compatibility (This part isn't totally true as I tried it and I couldn't get my CounterSpy software to install, at all, even after contacting CounterSpy)Just search the net for Windows XP Jacked to learn more about it. You'll be surprised to how small you can get Windows. Then again be warned as you will run into problems when trying to use certain software, even everyday things like a spyware program. Then again it is trial and error right?Hopefully that helps. Edited November 14, 2006 by Xyberz

bonestonne
i did a search with firefox, and IE Core appears to not come up, that could be a source of problems.Internet Explorer are slightly dependant on that. but you should install it on a virtual drive to finalize that everything works. MGadAllah
You did not find it above because I did not removed any thing related to internet explorer even core or any other thing relatedBut I really do need to know if I can move any thing elseThanks
bonestonne
sorry, im slightly dyslexic and it stabs me in the back sometimes...now i see whats going on.that setup looks pretty good, it should run at a fairly quick pace, maybe not the leaps and bounds of highend PCs, but it'll do its job.at least party like i said before, just test it in a virtual machine if possible to make sure it installs properly. i'm sure your friend will like it. MGadAllah
I know that it has been discussed beforeAnd I did posted a reply on an old topic to jump it upBut in my current situation shall I Enable or Disable Setup Prefetch-Cache?Thanks
bonestonne
are you sure about removing IE?does using FF do the job or I'm still need IE?firefox does the same thing internet explorer can do only much more secure.firefox is also completely independant of IE, although when first setup it may ask if you want to import bookmarks from IE, which isn't necessary.as for Prefetch-Cache, its really user determined. if you want windows to try to start programs faster, keep it. firefox will always have a somewhat slow startup. i can't find the topic on why though, i remember reading it here before though. Prefetch-Cache isn't important to windows, so it can be deleted for size, or kept in the hopes that it works.
