rik Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 What XP registry cleaner, checker, fixer do you guys recommend?
Aaron Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 Regcleaner is the best one, shame it went commercial at http://www.macecraft.com
Skyfrog Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I second that, Regcleaner works really well. I had no idea that it had gone commercial though, but the free version that's already out isn't going to stop working or anything. I guess they deserve a little something for it anyway, so more power to them. Here is the free version by the way:http://www.downseek.com/download/21692.asp
ZsasZ Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Sweet! I've been using this for a while (and agree with everything previously said, this app r0xx0rs), but since reinstalling I could only find the jv16 version... not that it's not good, but the original regcleaner was close to perfect, anything else would be unecessary...thanks for the link!

b0r3d Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 When you uninstall programs, it is very common for the uninstaller to leave its dirty little footprints in the regristry. This means your registry will contain keys and values that are of no use to your computer, as you've uninstalled the software. Just one of the features of a regristry cleaner, is that it can search for redundant keys, and let your remove them safely
rion Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 2. resulting in zippier performanceZippier performace in what way?
