Found this posting in a newsgroup (source unknown) but it sounds silly having Van Damme to play the role of Tintin, but he's pretty desperate!

Desperate Van Damme chases Tintin CNS

1st September 2003

Jean-Claude Van Damme has been trying to nail down Steven Spielberg

for a role in the Tintin franchise. Van Damme's latest movie, After

Death, has been put on ice because of budget problems, and the actor

has been told to fly back to LA and sit tight for five weeks while the

moneymen try to raise more cash. Spielberg has secured the film rights

to the Belgian comic strip, and the Muscles from Brussels has been

widely touted as a contender for the blond-tufted boy reporter. Studio

sources say desperate Van Damme has been personally calling Dreamworks

almost daily to push for a role in the project. 'He even suggested he

would don a blond wig,' says one insider, 'to convince Dreamworks

execs that he could pull off the role.'
