adamluke Posted August 19, 2006 Author Posted August 19, 2006 i have used upgrade advisor but can you just clarify - will aero look run at all with my graphics card, even if performance is affected, or do i HAVE to have at least 128 mb dedicated memory?
Biohead Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Your GFX card *SHOULD* give you Aero Glass.Obviously the only way you will know for sure will to be to install Vista.
prx984 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 (edited) even if it doesnt allow you to use the glass effect, there is a registry hack that allows you to use it. iv seen it around, ill go look for it.edit, i think i found it you can find it here. Edited August 20, 2006 by Cygnus
bledd Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 users will soon disable these extra effects in preference for speed, i wouldn't worry about it
LLXX Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Indeed, it looks cool at first but the fancy effects just get tiresome later.

MagicAndre1981 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 a x600 is a Dx9 card so you'll be able to use Aero Glass
Mr Snrub Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 a x600 is a Dx9 card so you'll be able to use Aero Glass Though with only 64MB of memory you might find it only supported at lower resolutions.I actually like the "fade-in" dialogue boxes as they grab my attention more than an instantly-changing window where only the text changes.
nitroshift Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 I'll just stick to xp with Vista GUI. It's been out there for so long and still has many holes in it. Just imagine how many holes Vistal will have at first release, especially that it is being rushed to meet the deadline M$ has set for it.
