Crispy
I saw a funny thing on TV. A danish woman living in New York said the following (translated):I was scared as hell! I thought it was a terrorist attack, luckily I a later found out that wasen't true. I have a small stash of around 500$ in case of terror, you gotta have that these days. So the first thing I did as I got of work was to tun to then nearest store to get the most important grosseries: Water and Tuna!! I don't know if that says something about danes or New York ... hmmm! You are really annoying alot of people with the way you post. How about try typing in lower caps, and use punctuation. You know periods, commas. That sort of thing.#2. I would suggest you read the rules.....7. You are expected to be mature when discussing in threads. Racism, pornography, threatening, profanity, or excessive vulgarity is not tolerated. You will be promptly banned. No Exceptions.MSFN Rules of Conduct#3. Had nothing to do with Ohio#4. Getting hit by a car 2 times in 2-3 days is hard to believe. Maybe he should start looking both ways?#5. Houses catching on fire? Come on.Number 2 is really important if you don't want to get banned. Trust me on that. rotjong
#3. Had nothing to do with OhioActually, the power outage did have to do with Ohio even though it was initially detected in Michigan. From Michigan the problem then spread along the main grid into Ohio. The station in Ohio, under the undervoltage conditions, should have disconnected itself from the rest of the grid thereby containing the loss to Michigan and portions of Ohio. Because the Ohio station failed to disconnect itself, like it was supposed to, the cascading failure spread into NY and elsewhere along the grid.I haven't seen information to contradict this series of events yet. We'll see.

We'll see. I was referring to the STATE of Ohio. It had nothing to do with the state. It had everything to do with the company and or companies located in Ohio.No need to put an entire state down. Facts are facts and that is what I was trying to get across to grunge.

Both. (I'm a native of NYC, and my father was Danish.)I lived through the first (1965) and 2nd (1977) blackouts, so this time it was just "Here we go again" and "When will those morons learn not to route everything through the same wire?"As to what started it, "Who farted?"
