dirtwarrior Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Just wondering why does nt based os have services while 9x does not?
kartel Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 you'd think after 1000+ posts, you wouldn't ask that........
Shindo_Hikaru Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Good question but it is like asking why A Deisel Truck has Towing and a car that does not.
Shoshoni Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 you'd think after 1000+ posts, you wouldn't ask that........ I don't agree with you because someone doesn't have to know everything. It's a good question though
LLXX Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 (edited) Because Microsoft wanted it to. Edited July 23, 2006 by LLXX
Shindo_Hikaru Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I do belive the biggest reason is the fact that NT has NTFS and windows 9x is FAT. There are things that the NTFS file system can support other programs in the management field.
kartel Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 (edited) xp/2000 runs on fat32........the big difference is no dos and a whole lotta headaches Edited July 23, 2006 by kartel
Andromeda43 Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I run XP on a FAT-32 partition and it runs like a 'Scalded Dog'. The XP OS seems to have nothing to do with NTFS. If my PC ran any faster on my FAT-32, SATA drive, I'd have to chain it down to the desk. Cheers!Andromeda43 B)
