Just wondering why does nt based os have services while 9x does not?

I don't agree with you because someone doesn't have to know everything. It's a good question though

I do belive the biggest reason is the fact that NT has NTFS and windows 9x is FAT. There are things that the NTFS file system can support other programs in the management field.

xp/2000 runs on fat32........the big difference is no dos and a whole lotta headaches

I run XP on a FAT-32 partition and it runs like a 'Scalded Dog'.

The XP OS seems to have nothing to do with NTFS.

If my PC ran any faster on my FAT-32, SATA drive, I'd have to chain it down to the desk.
