LLXX Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Disable scripting, activex, and java for Internet zone.Put trusted sites in Trusted Sites zone and enable slightly only the options needed to make the sites work.Use blocking HOSTS file and Proxomitron to filter out the ads.I do the above and use IE 6.0, haven't had any problems in 5+ years with malware. However sometimes I post malware-infested links of information on forums and I'm not even aware of it, since my config blocks out so much. It's only when the others start to complain that my link "infected" them that I know there was malware there
Jeremy Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 @LLXX, but isn't Proxomitron outdated and no longer developed?@jaclaz, yeah, in a perfect world...
