mystek Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I hope this is not off topic, but I am trying to find a CD/DVD burning package that does not come loaded with a lot of excess garbage. Things like Cover Creator or an MP3 ripper, I only want something that will write, read and format CD-R's CDRW's, DVD +-R, DVDRW to continue testing builds. Could someone offer any suggestions (searched Google) but would like input from the people here. After reading and posting I feel most will offer true info. If this is inappropriate for the forum, i apologize and request the moderator remove it. I currently use Nero.
Kiki Burgh Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 if for creating your builds ... have you encountered in your search - burn4free? how about alcohol?
rjdohnert Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I like AVS Disc Creator and for burning ISO images on Windows 2000 I like BurnCDCCI hope this is not off topic, but I am trying to find a CD/DVD burning package that does not come loaded with a lot of excess garbage. tommyp Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Microburner? A small exe that does it all. No formal installation program, just an exe file.
Crash&Burn Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 FDV recommended a ming32 compile of mkisofs a while back, can still be found at http://smithii.com/files/cdrtools-2.01-bootcd.ru-w32.zipA non-ming32 compile, which includes the (largish) cygwin1.dll http://smithii.com/files/cdrtools-latest.zipand a non-ming32 compile specifically for DVDs apparently: http://smithii.com/files/cdrtools-latest-dvdpatch.zipMaybe someone knows a bit more about them, couldn't seem to browse the forums without searching for links via google??
wela Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Have a look here:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=80&t=69886.On my lap it works fine.
Super-Magician Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) Microsoft has two command-line tools, cdburn and dvdburn, in its Windows Server 2003 resource kit package. They will burn ISO files to disc and can also erase RW discs. With CDBurn, it is possible to set a burn speed.Available for download here. Use 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract the two tools. Squeeto Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I made several dvd coasters until I found ImgBurn. It's small and free, or at least it was for version 1.0.0.0.
