I mean, why else would my Windows 2000 have a MSDOS.sys? Edit: Don't have XP, so can't help with that. Did you nLite anything or use HFCLEANUP? Edited June 2, 200620 yr by Kramy
June 3, 200620 yr Are you using a SATA (or scsi) drive, and did you use F6 to install drivers for same?

June 3, 200620 yr Shootin' for the obvious, here.Check your original CD for scratches. Check your hotfixes to see that they are all valid.Check your hard drive for errors.This sounds like a corrupt file from a bad filecopy.
June 3, 200620 yr Author I ran chkdsk /r /f on the drive where vmware is installed and where the iso is. I also checked the disk that the source is copyied from and there were a few surface level scratches but nothing that the cd-rw can't read and copy. I also downloaded the fixes from RyanVM's website RYanVM Updates 2.0.6 ect. I am in the middle of testing it. It still gave me the same error. Any ideas?John Edited June 3, 200620 yr by RBCC
June 3, 200620 yr Make an ISO from the SOURCE folder and install that ISO. This will test for a bad filecopy. How much free space do you have on your machine running HFSLIP?

JohnExpand that file to .dll and open it in Resource Hacker. If you can't get at certain resources and some sort of "compressed file" message comes up, then it's probably corrupt and likely causing the problem.
