os2fan2 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I use a free-download-manager.I have done a number of 250k downloads (usp5, usp5.1, autopatch2000, autopatchxp). In the main, it can run on a low prioity stop-start while you answer emails and message boards. I have a 80mb download running in the mo.W

randiroo76073 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Downloaded ISO of Suse bout 6 mos ago, 7 days @ 6 hrs a day[12am-6am]. I use "Free Download Manager"http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/Nother good one is "Fresh Download"http://www.freshdevices.com/freshdown.html
LLXX Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I recommend FlashGet download manager v1.50 (NOT the newer versions, they tend to consume more memory).Largest file I've downloaded through dial-up was ~730Mb. Average speed 6.2Kb/s.
Daemonforce Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 The largest file I've downloaded over dial-up was a 2.5GB DVD image. I still use dial-up because nothing better is available around here.To this day I have gathered roughly 600GB of data off the Internet.
janus zeal Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 largest file ive downloaded is ~700 mb cd image took about a week...3 or 4 hours a day.now ive got adsl, i can download a 700 mb file in about 10 mins...
os2fan2 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 For those curious, i use http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ proggie, v 1.9. You can start-stop things with it, and it does one after another.W
