HI,

recently i have upgraded my win xp pro (version 2002) to service pack 2. But after upgrading i'm having some problem. I can't download any file using IE. NO response at all. I can't accept files on MSN as well. I have checked on my control panel, firewall is disable. EVen windows media player can't be viewed on IE and i can't see any live stream vdo.

what could be the problem? any settings??

Are proxy settings correct?

Could you give us a bit more info, for example how are you connecting to internet?

Have you tried with other browser like Firefox or Opera ?

sounds like some dll is unregistered or missing to me...

Thanks for all your replies....well i haven't tried with firefox yet. but i tried downloading with getright software. Still doesn't work. everything was perfect when i had service pack 1. But after upgrading it from the microsoft website to service pack 2, things are not working properly. I'm on a broadband lan connection. Other users of the lan can download and share files on msn. It's just me that having problem.

id say back up and format.

DHCP working correctly? Try releasing and renewing the IP.

Can you ping any other PC in your network? Does your IP start like 169.254.x.y ?
