April 7, 200620 yr Hi everyone!I was wondering if HFSLIP can be used to slipstream windows XP x64 hotfixes.has anyone tried it?Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.JVW.
April 7, 200620 yr It's not supported. I'm afraid that's all I can say. Maybe TommyP or FDV can clarify it better.
April 23, 200620 yr It's not supported. I'm afraid that's all I can say. Maybe TommyP or FDV can clarify it better. I have EM64T processor, a copy of XP Pro x64 and extra empty hard drive, so I can provide some remote testing if you wish.As far as I can tell, .INF file structure remains intact, but main OS files now reside in \AMD64 folder on the instalation CD, and \I386 contains 32-bit binaries used for WOW64 emulation layer. Which basically means files from UPDATE and SP1QFE folders have to go to \AMD64, and there's also new subfolder, SP1QFE\WOW, which contains files that have to go to \I386 directory...
April 23, 200620 yr I could give it a shot some time. Would you mind providing me your PRODSPEC.INI file?
April 23, 200620 yr Guess you double-posted, DmitryKo .I have also seen a folder \IA64 for x64 installations. Has anyone else heard of it?
April 24, 200620 yr Microsoft sent me a nice Discovery box for x64 technologies.x64 CD has an I386 folder and an AMD64 one.AMD64 For windows x64 no more win51ip but a win51ap and a win51.For Server x64 : it is called win51aa plus the win51.I opened them in notepad2 and they contain : "Windows".In AMD64, there are driver.cab and driver32.cab.Driver32.cab is approx. 500KB while driver.cab is more than 63MB.Here is prodspec.inf for windows x64:;;Note to user: DO NOT ALTER OR DELETE THIS FILE.;[SMS Inventory Identification]Version=1.0[Product Specification]Product=Windows XP Professional x64 EditionVersion=5.0Localization=EnglishServicePackNumber=0BitVersion=40prodspec for Server 2003:;;Note to user: DO NOT ALTER OR DELETE THIS FILE.;[SMS Inventory Identification]Version=1.0[Product Specification]Product=Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 EditionVersion=5.0Localization=EnglishServicePackNumber=0BitVersion=40Microsoft does not offer it anymore. france order directlink : https://oms.one.microsoft.com/anonymous/Win...ustomerInfo.aspif it doesn't work : http://www.microsoft.com/france/windows/xp...on/upgrade.mspxTo get it, go to your local microsoft.com page. Search for "windows x64"In fact, you can order Server 2003 x64, windows XP x64 and a discovery kit which has both plus two other CDs and which comes in a nice DVD-box. btw, "Processeurs pris en charge : AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon avec Intel EM64T, Intel Pentium 4 avec Intel EM64T"and"Important: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition cannot be successfully installed on 64-bit Intel Itanium-based systems."x64.7z Edited April 24, 200620 yr by Camarade_Tux
April 25, 200620 yr Would you mind providing me your PRODSPEC.INI file? Yep, it's the same as already posted above.BTW, if you need to look at the folder structure, you can actually download a 120-day trial of XP Professional x64 Edition and 180-day trial of Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition from Microsoft: www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/facts/trial.mspxwww.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/evaluation/trialThese are fully working versions provided you have compatible hardware, not counting the timebomb in setupreg.hiv, and Microsoft even gives you an activation key. December 3, 200619 yr Just wondering if any progress had been made on an x64 "port" of HFSLIP?I've been using nLite to slipstream x64 OS builds, but I much prefer the way that HFSLIP works.
March 12, 200818 yr I know this is a 'really' old post, but it is still a good question, and I couldn't find anything else about x64 support in HFSLIP forum searches.Any work at all being done on this, or planned?
March 13, 200818 yr Hey MacGyver... No coding was done in that direction for quite a while and no date is scheduled to pick it up again either. But, if time permits, I'll give it a shot again.
March 13, 200818 yr I've successfully done a few hfslip hacks thus far, so if it's important to you I can try to slip in some time in my weekend to figure it out. I know the structure pretty well now, so it shouldn't be that hard. Do you want QFE or GDR binaries?
March 13, 200818 yr I can provide testing as well, as I have a VLK of windows xp x64 and windows 2003 server x64
March 14, 200818 yr Here's the last version I worked on if you like; it's based off an old version of HFSLIP. But I should warn you that I never actually ran it so there may be problems. The updated code should cover Windows Update Agent 3.0 x64 and most Type 1 hotfixes.@cluberti: QFE binaries. Edited March 15, 200818 yr by Tomcat76
