Andrew932 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Been using this free browser for a couple of days now. Very impressed, websites load fast, has a built in Antispyware quick scan, love the interface and has the 'tab' feature like Firefox.http://www.download.com/AOL-Explorer/3000-...tml?tag=lst-0-1I wouldn't normally use AOLs software but this seems to be as good as any other browser and I think it's better then Firefox. About a million times better then IE.
WolfX2 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 u do know it uses the IE platform right???and yes i have used it, its ok, but it seemed to slow down my browsing speed!
Jeremy Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 No thanks, I'll keep my IE...http://www.msfn.org/comments.php?shownews=16457
DigeratiPrime Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 just to clarify AOL has always been nothing more than a fancy 'shell' for IE. So its also susceptible to all its problems too.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aol_ExplorerI know people who still use AOL 9.0 SE and when i try to 'convert' them to AOL Explorer they get really frustrated. sigh.
Jeremy Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 yeah, I get frustrated when people don't want to switch from IE to Opera. it's the exact same thing except much more customizability, security and functionality.
echoofali Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I've always disliked aol's browser, it tries to do too much in my opinion, i like the functionality of opera and firefox, I.E is generally a last resort
LLXX Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 No thanks, I'll keep my IE...http://www.msfn.org/comments.php?shownews=16457I've heard of that, and tried the actual exploit demonstration itself. All it does is cause the IE to crash but then I can just open it again and resume browsing... a minor bug, but still not very serious.
