vinodh Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 When i use the net, and browse for a few minutes, sometimes, suddenly, IE6 decides to go to a site called "InovaOne Studios". If i then open FireFox or Opera it does the same. If i restart the PC, and re-connect to the net, everything seems fine. However, this situation is temporary. I can sometimes browse for hours with no problems, or just 10 minutes and pick up this problem. I'm running Mcafee Enterprise 8.0i AV with the latest definitions. Also, i have the lastest updates for XP as well as the latest updates for Windows Defender. Various scans have revealed nothing, so......Any help is appreciated.
WolfX2 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 (edited) Use the browser hijack restore feature in Windows Defender!you can find it at www.microsoft.com and use the security guide listed in my signature once its cleaned Edited March 6, 2006 by wolf74481

Only use the ones that are hignest rated in this list Edited March 13, 2006 by wolf74481
Tarun Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Problem is, Spyware Doctor returns countless false positives. I had a harmless shortcut to a folder I always use on my desktop and Spyware Doctor said it was a keylogging trojan.
Mercury_22 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 This it's a issue more often found when you or your ISP are using a proxy! I DON'T trust "Spyware Doctor " many... many..... many.... false positives better try a firewall like Outpost (Spayware included!) to see what's going on! B)
Jeremy Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 (edited) Yes, just because it reports more infections than another, doesn't mean it is better than others. You really have to take your time and analyze each detected "infection" and make sure it is one and not a false positive. Also for future reference, refer to some of my previous posts:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...67916&hl=routerhttp://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...67791&hl=routerDon't worry about the keyword at the end, they're just search results, not focused entirely on routers.
