Hi y'all

I'm getting broadband Internet next week and I'm just wondering which would give me better performance / reliabilty, an Ethernet connection or USB connection?

i never had experience with USB, but i would say Ethernet should be better... and easier to install, well after all that whats its for - networking...

but then again, im not sure about usb, it might be very good as well

I would take USB if you have just one computer with no hub or router hooked up, else if you have a network or more then 1 computer hooked to the internet I would go with Ethernet...

USB Modems Suck

USB here... Normally in the UK you get your modem supplied and to be honest with ya they are good.

As the comps get better the USB gets better

I have a combo USB/Ethernet Cable modem, and both work fine. The only diference is that the USB requires a driver, Ethernet doesn't.

I would go ethernet, however if u are already using a nic in ur pc already 4 a home network, then u will need to purchase a second nic.

Actually either one will work for just a single computer. This has been pointed out by the other post. Ethernet or USB will allow maximum down load speeds from the internet since 10 Mbyts down is the limit for folks like us ( end users ). Once again as pointed out ethernet net may require a little bit more hardware, however if you plain to use a home network this is what you will have to use.

I have used both and each worked just fine for me. I am now using ethernet because of the network I have at this time. I guess this just really just sums up what has already been said..
