Thank you. I tried that and in order to install the extension it opens up firefox and asks me if I want to install it. I am trying to do this silently.

I guess that is a security issue, you dont really want extensions to install without notice, who knows what spyware and other crap that websites would install otherwise.

If you are after this to use on an uA CD/DVD however, search the forums for 'Silence of the foxes' which will give you a single silent unattended installer for firefox that has all your extensions automatically installed on first use.

my only issue with this method is that it installs it globally which freaks out some of the extensions.

but i cant think or find any other way yet.

Can't you specify to install it in the default profile of firefox in the Application Folder? Since I don't think the new firefox is using profiles anymore. Or else my install is messed up.

Works for me using profiles. Works perfectly.
