ceez Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Zup msfn'ers?I reformated my pc and need to install some codecs again in the system. I've always heard that installing ANY codec pack can mess up your PC...as in codecs not actually working and then being unable to remove/reinstall. Once I had trouble with the AC3 codecs. The app Gspot said I had the codec installed and it would would with the vid I had but I could not listen to any vid's that contained that audio codec.Fee-codecs has a boat load of different drivers like XP Codec Pack, Codec Pack All in 1, etc...What do you recommend I install? I want to able to watch most (or all) types of videos that are available on the web. Thanks, ceez
ceez Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 I'll give K-Lite Codec Pack 2.67 Standard a try.Anyone else have a different choice?thanks againceez

LLXX Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 ffdshow universal audio/video codec. It's the one I've been using. Seems to take very little CPU and mem.

phatcat42141 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 download "ACE Mega CodecS Pack 6.03 - Professional Edition" from -- http://www.free-codecs.com/Codec_Packs.htmIt has everything in this pack that you will ever need.
Reino Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 ...and need to install some codecs again in the systemDo you need any specific codecs? Because otherwise it's definitely not worth installing such a huge codecpack.
