What if any service pack does the XP pro disc youre using have? If it doesnt have any then that could be why. 48bit LBA wasnt enabled until SP1 or SP1a.

Well... have you tried slipstreaming SP2 onto your XP installation?

It's not necessarily your hard drive that's buggered up. I got a 200GB drive a few months ago, and it caused me all sorts of problems with my old motherboard. I upgraded my motherboard to something a little more recent, and all was well.

What are the specs on this computer?

My Specs:

P4 3.2 W/HT

512 of ram

160 gig hard drive

Windows xp pro

Just ask me if you need more specs.

@Zxian I'm very bad with my Grammar Just to let you know but i will try what you told me. BTW how do i slipstream SP2 Into my xp cd?

It seems like your hardware should be able to handle the drive just fine.

To slipstream... there's the hard way or the easy eay. You'll need the administrative install of SP2 in any case, which you can find here.
