ripken204 Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 http://www.sunbelt-software.com/CounterSpy.cfma friend told me about this today, im using the trial and the program is pretty neat, it has excellent reviews at alot of places
trickytwista Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 yep you right man , its not a bad tool at all
ripken204 Posted September 5, 2005 Author Posted September 5, 2005 well i just ran it and 4 things came up, then i ran ms antispyware and 1 came up
ripken204 Posted September 5, 2005 Author Posted September 5, 2005 well no wonder they are so alike, Giant Company Software was in partnership with sunbelt! so this program is exactly like ms antispyware but a little better, too bad its not free tho
Jeremy Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Also, different anti-spyware tools have different definitions of what spyware is, so they might come with more or less entries that they classify as spyware. I've scanned with Ad-Aware SE Pro v1.06, Spybot v1.4 and M$ Antispyware Beta and they all came up with 0.
Wolf_Demon Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 ripken, that's not a very good test unless you told counterspy not to delete or quarantine the spyware after that search.
ripken204 Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 ripken, that's not a very good test unless you told counterspy not to delete or quarantine the spyware after that search.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>i told counterspy to ignore the crap that it found

So you do trust Sunbelt's software - yet don't delete the spyware it finds - I'm puzzled
ripken204 Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 it was a test between counterspy and ms antispyware
techniquefreak Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Ahh of course I see that now - my mistake - that happens when you don't read the full thread - bad habit on my part ....
