WGA Disable is a Fraud!

Hey crowd, been a while since I've been on here, I remember when all the hype went around where everyone thinks they've found a way to disable WGA........got a news flash for you..........DOESN'T WORK! I've set up a comp running a typical CDKey, allowed it to do the ordinary tasks it needs to do on WinUpdate......even allowed WGA to be thrown on the comp, and then........I checked for redistibutable d/l's for HOME edition........no go.......here's a list of updates you can try to find yourself, I've only been able to locate 15 out of 37

Which WGA solution do you use? (don't call it disable, guys, that sounds almost criminal :P:P:P )

I use the following reg key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\{17492023-C23A-453E-A040-C7C580BBF700}]
"Version"="*"
"Flags"=dword:[TOP SECRET VALUE I CANT DISCLOSE LEGALLY!! OMG!!ONEONE]

TOOLS -> MANAGE ADD-ONS -> Disable ActiveX is the one I use and this is the result:

TOOLS -> MANAGE ADD-ONS -> Disable ActiveX is the on I used....

In what program are you doing this? IE? I'm looking for the best way to do this right now myself, don't know if I should use a key... but this method seems pretty painless I just don't know where "Manage Add-Ons" is.

Still, the process was presented and it still has no effect, it's as though if WinUpdate doesNOT receive a response from the ActiveX, it won't allow for update d/l...........I'm thinking I may delete the file and seeing what happens after that

war is right. I think that WU page checks to see if the activex control is present. I've updated a few computers lately that didn't have WGA on it yet and WU required it to be installed to veiw the new v6 page. But I tried a java disable and got around it.

javascript:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all')

You put this in the address bar before you click express or custom. Then just press enter and click your option. Works fine for me. I use it in my business when I run across a hacked system that I'm fixing.

Well, it appears that when you delete the ActiveX, and then proceed to v6 page, Update automatically throws it back on your comp......... nice, eh?

i'm new in this wga post so i have a (maybe) stupid question. do i have to instal the kb892130 (wga) file in order for the "disable wga" option to appear in ie6 ??? what happens while u install that file ??? or after installing it ???
