  1. Someone on Gentoo Linux discovered that instead of loading up a desktop environment, you could do a little hacking and get UT2004 to load as your DE. No extra services; just the drivers and UT.
  2. According to google job openings (http://www.google.com/support/jobs/bin/topic.py?loc_id=1104&dep_id=1056), " * BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent (PhD a plus). * Several years of software development experience. * Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems. * Experience with Unix/Linux or Windows environments, C++ development, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval, network programming and/or developing large software systems a plus. "
  3. Not sure if this would work, I've been in java and not php recently (AP Comp Sci). But could this all go into a function in the php file, and then make a recursive call at the end? (recursive call means that the function will call it self again, thus the "reptition")
  4. Sounds like you removed Internet Explorer from your UA cd. Try firefox or an alternative browser?
  5. Windows isn't that great either, man. Just got a new computer and after finally setting it all up and getting Windows working, I found myself rebooting ever five minutes because software was installed or updates were just applied. That gets annoying, and its unexcusable; Microsoft has had plenty of time to fix this; its depressing and should be embarrassing for them because they've only decided to address this problem now. Plus, the one thing I think you should have highlighted but didn't is the ammount of community support. If my Kernel crashes, I can post the message on a forum and get an exact answer as to what happened and how to fix it within a day. If Windows encounters the BSOD, I post that message and I'll get "uhh it could be this or this or this" or "talk to MS". Linux is, ultimately, the more community friendly operating system as people can truly say they understand how it works underneath the hood. Which is better? You can say that one sucks, but then you really have to be honest with yourself and say that they both suck. They both have their advantages and disadvantages; neither is perfect for everyone.
  6. My mistake, I misunderstood what you said. When you do run those network setup wizards, it should specifically say Do you want to use this shared connection? and name the connection ... does/did it do that?
  7. Did you run the network setup on each XP machine? You need to and tell it that you're sharing the ICS from the first machine.
  8. I have two users on one Win XP Pro box. When I try to change the default internet browser for one user from IE to Firefox, it changes to that for the entire computer. Is there any way to have more than one user and more than one default internet browser? Thanks.
  9. You need to have SP2 installed to have the Manage Add Ons. But its in the tools menu, like said.
  10. If you're still having problems with activation PM me, I can fix it for you.
