Like the topic says...

I've tried out HyperCam, and it's pretty good so far IMO. Once you get the codecs working properly the files come out in decent quality and small file size.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I used Capture Screen Studio (3.6.1) for a while. It did the job for me.

It's for moving images or still images?

I always use SnagIt for still images, great and easy to use software!

Snag it does a pretty good job. Version 6 is I think available freeware or shareware.

Maybe you could try Showshifter - that should be allright too ...

Moving images - I'd like to have a simple program to show my computer illiterate parents how to go about changing certain settings.

Thanks for the link, but I couldn't get FRAPS to capture video when I was sitting in Windows... which is where I want to caputre the video. It seems like it's only for games.

Camtasia STudio from http://www.techsmith.com/ was amazing when I tried it. Done some good photoshop tutorial videos with it.

Wink is made for just what you are trying to do. Works very nice and free.
