BullGates Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 (edited) Just get your winxp cd and copy from the i386 folder the 2 files:NTLDRNTDETECT.COMthen you can use attrib +h +s to put the right attributes, but this is not mandatory. Edited August 1, 2005 by BullGates
Ibis Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 This might be of interest: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=51754&st=10#Calling ntldr and ntdetect for memory controller is just wrong, cause it has nothing to do with memory management, as stated by Microsoft themselves. After Windows has booted, ntldr and ntdetect is not used anymore.http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...mc_str_reii.asphttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTLDRhttp://billslater.com/teach/nt/cccpa/sec_5/sld007.htm

jasinwa Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 but when tested , it does decrease boot times, , i use the ones from that guys pack @tm<{POST_SNAPBACK}>So how bad does it screw up tweaks in general?what pack at what tm??Is it worth it to try?Currently on a P3-1G I boot (just after bios) in 38 seconds....with all my startup proggies included, etc...
glent Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 could some mirror the file Windows_XP_PLD_2.0_ENG.zip the rapishare link is down,
Piterniel Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I don`t have mirror. I search on my HDD, but i can`t find this file :|
Electrician Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 There is nothing magical about the polish versions. IF you have access to an XP or win2k3 CD get the two files from there.Though I suspect that those with fast disk systems are not seeing any noticable improvement. The script just tweaks settings to cache more stuff in ram (and turns off a couple of things).I prefer to stay away from such twists (as opposed to tweaks). But as I said way back, I got faster boot times.
Aegis Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 The memory controller resides in the kernel file (ntoskrnl.exe), so I doubt this works.
dirtwarrior Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) All it is 2 files from 2k3 sp1. Add email addy I will send to you.here you gohttp://rapidshare.de/files/12607257/stuff.rar.html Edited February 5, 2006 by dirtwarrior
