KamiQuazi Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Does anyone have one? I want to build a new computer and i wanted some information on the processor before i bought it.
ripken204 Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 if ur gunna get one then get the 4400, they are about as fast as an fx53 in gaming, what else will u be putting in the comp and how much are u willing to pay?
KamiQuazi Posted June 28, 2005 Author Posted June 28, 2005 Not more than $600 on the CPU alone... but the entire system in the end is gonna cost me about $5000... just 4 the computer itself. I would rather have the X2 instead of the FX
ripken204 Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 WOW thats gunna be a swet system, the X2 is vry good in multitasking, better than the intels, do u know what ur going to but in this system?
KamiQuazi Posted June 28, 2005 Author Posted June 28, 2005 (edited) I mainly building this system for the gaming aspects and for high quilty video and still imagary editing... so i thought about the X2... Lost Soul Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 that sounds like a sweet system,, but 1 question why the 1.75 TR Raid HD ? really whats so good about it,, and geesh thats alot of room,, what all do you plan on putting in it to come any where close to filling an 8th of that up?
KamiQuazi Posted June 29, 2005 Author Posted June 29, 2005 I haven't bought the VC(s) yet... im still in the gathering... the reason for the space is because once i get that computer im gonna get Broadband (yes, i hate to admite it but i am still on dial-up ) and im gonna host a email server, ftp, and more... and i like to have a copy of all of my movies (thanks to DVD Decrpter) and have back up of my music and games to play with emulation and after they get into DVD size... (Ex: MOH:PA, Unreal Tournament 2004, and more) and everything else i have to have to run the video and imagiry editing... so... it helps... lol
ripken204 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 599 at newegg for like 4 different brands, and about 20 more for the bfg
KamiQuazi Posted June 29, 2005 Author Posted June 29, 2005 That is like a 5th of my budget if i bought 2... i'll think i'll look for a little cheaper if i want to use SLi support.... anything on a cheaper level say 1 VC for under 400?
Broken Hope Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 A single 7800GTX is as fast as 6800 Ultras in SLI, you won't need 2 cards.
Jeremy Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 I think 2 GBs will serve you fine, you won't need to pay for 2 extra GBs after that. I mean it's just gonna be your pride of having such a powerful system and I know I'd feel good about telling someone "Hey I have FOUR GIGABYTES of RAM" but in the grand scheme of things, as long as you have enough for what you really need, that's what to be happy about.Pffft, I'd have a GB but have 512 since my gf's PC needed half of mine so she could do gaming. Her dad bought her a Dell with a 2.4 GHz CPU and 128 MBs of RAM. What a...
KamiQuazi Posted July 4, 2005 Author Posted July 4, 2005 Thats true... 4 gb does sound better... but now my system is falling apart, one piece at a time... lol... my monitor just died on friday so i have to buy a new monitor... lol
