It's not, you have to specifically tell it you want to use it, otherwise it reverts to Windows Update.

To tell it you want to use Microsoft Update, goto http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate and install the ActiveX controls. It will then use this by default.

Interesting. So this seems to be more of a useful tool for sysadmins then? Managing and updating many computers is not an easy task. So while regular users just point and click...they dont expect to get much more benfits besides reduced update sizes right?

MS Update is really handy. It's much easier than going to Windows Update, then Office Update and whatever....

Hey I may have been seeing things but I thought when I read the agreement for the new update scheme that eventually we will have to pay for them.

put it this way, thank god for system restore.. just had a bad experience with windows updates, after installing windows installer 3.0 or w/e and reboot, i couldn't open any programs.

I knew abt WSUS. but did not heard about MU. It looks a good thing. Currently I am installing it. Will come back witht he feedback afterwards.

i don't know that is in testing state, but i testing it and it is very easy for me (probably to others) to update.

Is something for the take in mind, well now I use the Windows Updates Downloader for to download my updates check it out.
