XtremeMaC
Hi theresomedays I cannot open specific pages, but I most often can open msfn.orghow can I find what the problem is? I think its bc of the dns or something but I'm not quite sure. would this be caused by something on my comp? on my router? (my other computer cannot open those sites as well..)for example as of now I cannot reach www.yahoo.comI can ping it but neither ie nor opera opens it. it doesn't even load, I type the address click okay then in miliseconds I see the "page cannot be displayed" problemmy firewalls are disabledany ideas?/suggestions?/THanksedit:I tried it with another site.I first wasn't even able to ping it. it'd say no host or something.then minutes later I was able to ping but the website won't open. I typed the ip of the webpage it won't open ???there was a page to check the dns what was that?futhermore I can open http://www.doom9.org but I cannot open http://forum.doom9.org/ Edited September 17, 2004 by XtremeMaC
jaclaz
How long ago started happening?I have had same kind of probs, since two or three days ago, but as I have a satellite link, I blamed it.Quite curiously trying to reload the site after a few seconds worked almost always.jaclaz

jaclaz
well, maybe then it's some flickering in DNS service or cluttering of "information highways".I had the same kind of problem when the 9/11 terrorist attack happened. To get some news from Europe I had to connect to ASIAN sites, as nothing WEST would work, due to everybody trying to connect to the States.jaclaz

Doggie
it could be your ISP. sometimes they dont update their DNS records (Eg NTL in the uk in some areas) so contact them about it
XtremeMaC
heh nothing to do with a format or reinstallI believe its an isp issue too but why? CoffeeFiend
XP has a bad dns caching bug too... There's a regtweak for that. could also be your ISP. My ISP sucked so bad at I that I run DNS on my server instead... Works nicely.
