Alanoll Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 as I said, it's the same as MDAC. You didn't USE the ENTIRE line. Skimming something, does not mean the same as reading.

BaTLeZone Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 bit of a stupid question, but how do you download a file from windows update without installing it (for XPCD purposes)? Each hotfix identified on WindowsUpdate will have a Details link for it. It will take you to the article that talks about the patch. You can download it from there. what about the driver updates. I tried this and it just takes me to some MS site not to the drivers. With SP1 the driver update were in the temp internet files (after they were d/led). I can not find them at all with SP2.Any ideas??
RyanVM Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Go to the Windows Update Catalog. It's linked from the main Windows Update site.
GreenMachine Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Or download them, and then look in %SYSTEMROOT%\Windows Update.txt. There you will find the links to the CAB files, as well as everything else Windows Update has downloaded.
Alanoll Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 This thread is here by retired, in favor of the superior one put together by Incrdible Hulk.
Wampenseppl Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Hmm, do we have a complete list with all needed Hotfixes and their required switches?
RyanVM Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Hmm, do we have a complete list with all needed Hotfixes and their required switches? The best list I'm aware of is my own list at http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/The switches for all post-SP2 hotfixes are the same (so far anyway): /q /n /zAnd of course, they also all support the /integrate command.
