badboy05mtl Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 what would be the function of that plugin?to scan the virus as it does with Internet Explore but I don't use any more internet explore. That's the reason I want to know if the firefox does so or not.
anza Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 By the way, has anyone noticed this? It's the folder of the BEAST builds of new nightlies, with an .msi installer.
SiMoNsAyS Posted December 26, 2004 Author Posted December 26, 2004 @anza nice find, i'll update 1st post
Astalavista Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 simon I tried using the /qn and /qb switch but it doesn't seem to work.here is the updated profile w/ new gmail, tab browsing and flashgethttp://ezshare.de/files-en/239447/profile.exe.html
SiMoNsAyS Posted December 27, 2004 Author Posted December 27, 2004 (edited) this is strange, 99% of .msi installers i've downloaded used that switches... unfortunatlly i'm not an expert on this.i'll simply download the installation, test it and post results.edit: don't know what happens with your installation. the list of switches (/?) include /qa /qb /qn /passive and /quite so it has to work that way. Astalavista Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 I know it should but it doesn'tfirefox.msi / is what i used to find out what are the switchespls test it and see if it works.
durex Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Simon, Asta...I just wanted to say thanks a ton for this. I finally got my FF install with custom profile all finished up. This guide has come a LONG way.. I rememeber looking at simons instructions about a month ago and being quite overwhelmed with what was involved in getting everything right. But you guys have done a bunch of work to make this just about as easy as can be.Thanks again guys and keep up the great work!
SiMoNsAyS Posted December 27, 2004 Author Posted December 27, 2004 The msi definitely doesn't work.1 more to confirm this and i'll remove it
totoymola Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 The msi definitely doesn't work.1 more to confirm this and i'll remove it Hmmm.... How about another msi?Download here: http://tinyurl.com/4yyutIt has nothing but default, plus Flash plug-in. It is repacked as an exe to minimize the size. If you run the exe, it installs silently by default. This will work for sure. All you have to do is add this command to your batch.START /W "Firefox (1.0) (totoymola).exe"Or, you can extract the msi from the exe, and run this:START /W setup.msi /QNNote: You can use /QB if you want to see the progess bar.
totoymola Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 What happens if you install the msi from beast trunk? I didn't try it. I'm just curious why is it not working.I tried opening the msi, and it has a lot of missing files. Maybe that's why it doesn't work 100%.
SiMoNsAyS Posted December 27, 2004 Author Posted December 27, 2004 not sure, i'm curious too.i think this is the first msi file i find that does not use those switches...
totoymola Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Really? No switches needed to install it? That's cool. What is that? Msiexec embeded with the msi? But I find it kinda useless, because it is very easy to add /qb at the end of the command. But anyway, I will try to figure out how to do that too.
