I remember seeing awhile back (though I can't seem to find it now with search) a way to disable OOBE without breaking the install (services not starting and such). Has this been accomplished with SP2 yet? If so, what must be done?

*sigh* I wish the forum had better searching. I remember seeing it in a thread and replying asking specifically if there were risks to doing it.

The point of the hack was so that the registration screen + music wouldn't even start up (versus the current status where it starts then immediately quits).

i'm thinkin you need to check the setting in the box entitled

Search posts from... default is 30days

it was longer than that / i also remember the post...
