Klemper Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Every time I restart or turn on my computer my Nvidia control panel “ adjust desktop colour settings” doesn’t remember display settings , even though “use Nvidia settings is on “. I have to toggle between other “applications control settings “ & “use Nvidia settings” , to restore my colour settings. Unfortunately, none of the posted over the internet solutions has worked for me. Whenever my computer goes to sleep or restarts, the default settings are automatically re-applied. It may even reset itself during the session! My custom settings are NOT saved. Edited March 7 by Klemper
D.Draker Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Friend, in as much as I want to help you, I can't. Never encountered such problems with Vista. I don't have 8.1, and here we have only one true 8.1 fan @Jaguarek62, as far as I know. Did you try different drivers? 2

superleiw Posted February 25 Posted February 25 It is a known bug by Nvidia that can happen regardless of OS. It might only be fixed in newer W10/W11 drivers R570 or higher. As an alternative solution, have you tried DDU to completely reset your settings and remove any leftover files ? https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/

No luck. It only got the situation much worse. The bug is now more frequent.

superleiw Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Have you tried putting the graphics card into another computer to see if it has the same issue? If it is getting worse your card may be dying or maybe some other hardware is failing...

By the advice from @D.Draker, I tried installing Vista Ultimate 64 bit, no problem with it on the same computer. But I still need Windows 8.1.
D.Draker Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Well, I was able to replicate this big on Windows 7, try using only DVI-I, windows 7 glitches out on DVI-D. 2
TSNH Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Is Nvidia container service running? Unfortunately I had to enable it, otherwise the settings would reset (Windows 8.0 here) 2
