Check your chrome://flags - I suspect that you have "Site Isolation" disabled.  This is known to break CloudFlare CAPTCHA but does reduce process count and RAM.

Spoke too soon.  Water bill is working again.  Fingers crossed they aren't "trying" to change things on their end.

I tried my new install of 2036 on Speedometer, and it crashes every time at test 377 or thereabouts, and restores back to the start.
I actually do think it feels generally faster than the previous version.

Odd.  Which Speedometer are you using?  There's actually 3 of them (1, 2, and 2.1).

I used https://browserbench.org/Speedometer2.0/.
I will try 2.1.

The same.
"Page is restored for something lost" error message and resets to the start.
It might be my ancient ATI graphics card falling over, I will try with the other one!

Still no joy.
It seems to be crashing at test 365.

I then get a quick flash (this is a grab from a video I made of it!) of this error message -

It then resets to the start page.

Yes, that's it.
But I had not changed that.

Do you have any idea why there is a delay in accessing web pages or settings with the 2036?
Is this perhaps also a setting?
Or maybe something is missing in the download?

I have re-downloaded and "installed" the 2036 (ungoogeled).
It is always the same problem. With 1030 it is not.

I had uploaded 1030 with the site isolation disabled and it was later on that it was discovered.

That flag was not intended to be set in the uploaded version, it was set when I was doing some testing on my end before uploading.

I have that delay on ALL versions, including 1030.

No way to disable it.  It can be reduced by not running a rebased version of chrome.dll, but then you won't like the RAM consumption.

You have to pick the lesser of two evils.

Does the error console show anything?

This is what's in the console after the crash.

Run in Incognito.  I suspect your uBO (which always sounds to me like something somebody would say walking out of the gym) is interfering.
