Hey guys. Did Apple drop off support for Windows 8.1 ? I noticed that there are two separate installers for iTunes, one for Windows 10 and another one for 8.1? Is there any way in how to get the latest version running or are there any Kernel errors?

there are no kernel errors. they just f****** limited it to windows 10. no way around that (just yet)

It’s been nearly a year since Apple ended support for Windows 7 and 8. The last usable version is 12.10.11.2. Recent versions have many bugs even on Windows 10. I have an iPhone that has never been synced with any PC (Vista is obviously not an option), and I see no real need to do so.

But I am wondering if newer iOS versions (i got an iPhone) will support the old iTunes Version of Windows 7/8.1. My Vista PC can‘t connect with any phone that runs iOS 10+

I have not yet heard any reports of iOS compatibility being broken (if you have Windows 8.1, please try it and let us know), but I’m sure it is only a matter of time. No one cares less about old Windows versions than Apple! (Well, Google comes pretty close.)

Also the official latest iTunes version still supports my iPhone 12 pro on iOS 15

WOW! How did you manage to fool the installer? So, compatibility isnt broken?

Very awesome. Just curious, did you extract the msis and used a msi editor to remove the os check? Because that's the method I know so far to make some software that use msis to install on unsupported windows. 

I also wonder if that way worked on Windows 7 or not, give it a try if you haven't.

Lately there have been reports that devices cannot be restored using iTunes version 12.10.11.2 (e.g. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253272795), so good luck with that version check bypass!

that's odd though. I tried restoring iPhone 11 to ios 15.0.2 and it worked just fine. it might affect iPhone 13 series though
