FantasyAcquiesce Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 (edited) Edit: I am trying to find the TTS program Kolfix. The web links to the site are either down or gone and the web archive isn't helping my case. EDIT 2: Searching for Microsoft Simplified Chinese Male SAPI5; still searching EDIT 3: I've been collecting free TTS voices in languages around the world and testing them. I just downloaded this Bengali TTS voice and am finding there's issues with it on my Windows 10 computer. While it can try speaking English the best it can, the TTS voice does not recognize Bengali script. I'm probably wrong, but do they use another alphabet for their language??? In the case of Mongolian TTS, I had to use Cyrillic script because the TTS did not recognize traditional script. Edited June 21, 2019 by ~♥Aiko♥Chan♥~

Some resources/lists: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2062625/microsoft-sam-sapi-alternatives http://www.zero2000.com/free-text-to-speech-natural-voices.html but there are not that many which are actually free AFAIK, a few may be free but for private use only, not commercial. The "new" ones by MS are here, Helen and ZiraPro for en-US: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27224 MSSpeech_TTS_en-US_Helen.msi MSSpeech_TTS_en-US_ZiraPro.msi Or you could try espeak: http://espeak.sourceforge.net/ (It has some SAPI5 voices) jaclaz Edited April 14, 2019 by jaclaz 2

FantasyAcquiesce Posted June 21, 2019 Author Posted June 21, 2019 (edited) Now I'm trying to get Bengali TTS to work with Windows https://github.com/Bangla-Language-Processing/Katha-Bangla-TTS https://sourceforge.net/projects/tts-indianlang/files/Bengali_tts_windows/ I've tried both of these voices to no avail. The first Bengali voice installs successfully on Windows 10 (meant for 9x apparently), BUT does not work. I've tried copying and pasting Bengla text into balabolka but the speech does not synthesize. Either voice recognizes bengali Edited June 21, 2019 by ~♥Aiko♥Chan♥~
