FthrJACK Posted June 10, 2002 Share Posted June 10, 2002 i just bought a 15m UTP rj45 to rj45 cable, when i plug both the machines directly together i cannot establish a network, it just says "network cable unplugged" all the time. both machines are on the same workgroup name"MSHOME" but i cant get them to talk at ALL using the wizard or manually, im banging my head here!!! any ideas??? FthrJACK Posted June 11, 2002 Author Share Posted June 11, 2002 arrghh untrained useless staff in pc chain stores get right on my tits!!!!!!in not driving 20 miles to the shop to take it back now. i ASKED for a NIC to NIC cross over cable, he gave me this 10 meter UTP cable, it just says 10m UTP rj45 to rj45 on the box, oh sod it im buying that network starter kit from netgear, comes with 2 nics, 4 port hub, two 10m long cables and is only £35there was an 8 port hub on offer at misco a while back but they dont sell it anymore, shame :'( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
