anthonyng Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 hi all, im a newbie to this nlite software, i need help to get over with my problem in the installation of windows xp for sata hard disk, tested using virtual box.things i do in nlite1.only integrate the sata controler driver(am i missing other driver or anything? need a instructions from expert here)the result turns out after done installing devices, it pops up kernel blue screen... sorry that i only know the kernel word on that blue screen...hope to see replies soon with answers that are working...
jaclaz Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Which exact driver(s) are you trying to integrate with nlite (or which specific computer is it)? I mean, it makes little sense to test in virtual box something that will behave differently when (if) the actual specific hardware is detected. There are tens (or more) different SATA drivers, and the installation of the one (or the other) will be "triggered" by the install routine hardware autodetection. If you are trying to make a (almost) "universal" Windows XP install disk, you'd better go for the DriverPacks (the site does provide detailed instructions for use with nlite):http://driverpacks.net/http://forum.driverpacks.net/index.php jaclaz
cdob Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 (edited) sata hard disk, tested using virtual box. kernel blue screenThe integrated driver dosn't support the virtual box hardware. Use another driver (v7.8) or another hardware. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/107504-integration-of-intels-sata-ahci-and-raid-drivers/ Edited November 28, 2014 by cdob
condor Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 If your bios motherboard has option to change from SATA(AHCi) to IDE you can install XP without integrating sata driver. Then after installation you can enable SATA using a reg value and SATA drivers.
anthonyng Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 @condor sadly the bios dont have the menu...i might need working tutorials for these problems... :3
Ponch Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) hope to see replies soon with answers that are working...So do we. Please answer the 1st questions in the 1st reply .Also from what you write, you get past the partitioning/formatting part of the install and things go wrong far later ("after done installing devices"), so what makes you think that the problem comes from the SATA driver? anthonyng Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 to be honest that answer is i dont know...just have a feeling about it lol
jaclaz Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Maybe there is the usual communication problem. You should have a "goal" or "expectation". Is this goal ?:prepare an XP source that can be installed in VirtualBox prepare an XP source that can be installed on a specific machine (with a specific SATA controller) prepare an XP source that can be installed on a large number (but not *all*) of machines with various SATA controllersPlease choose one. If your goal is #2 and you wish to test the result in VirtualBox, it is very likely that you will fail. jaclaz
anthonyng Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 it doesnt really need to work fine on virtual box in order to install on the system?? well thats what i thought though... by test on virtual box 1st
submix8c Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Post #2 asked -1 - What is the hardware (name Who Makes it and what is Model) computer2 - What Driver (name it and where you got it) you integrated (Text Mode Driver?) Specifically *why* VirtualBox may fail -https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch05.html Apologies, but you will not get much help by *not* answering questions. Please answer *all* questions. So far, you tell us *only* -1 - XP integrate driver (which one?) with nLite2 - Blue Screen (what is message?)3 - Trying to install in VirtualBox4 - BIOS has no SATA Mode ChangeNo *detail* information.
Ponch Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 the installation of windows xp for sata hard disk, tested using virtual box.Sorry for one more question; Is it "tested OK on VirtualBox" (and crash on real hardware) or is it "testing on VirtualBox"?
