Wow. :w00t: Where do you get that from ? Experience ?

To the OP. Where does that PC come from ? Was it running fine before (that you're 100% sure of) ?

Also please edit your 1st post as to have a relevant title. "big problem" doesn't mean much.

THIS computer?

laptop fujitsu lifebook SH531/GFX (WIN 7 PRO 32 BIT)

Do you mean th HDD has a Password set in the BIOS?

If so, uh-oh!

http://globalsp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publications/public/ds-LIFEBOOK-SH531.pdf

Specs in PDF says so. In which case you have a rather large problem that jaclaz -may- or -may not- be able to help with.

Further -if- that's the PC that the HDD resides in, is it the one that -used- to function (and you made a Pswd and forgot it) and you put  a -different- one in (from e.g. a friend or eBay that has a Pswd)?

I cannot say specifically for that model, but usually if there is access to BIOS, there is also access to change the HD password.

There are "generic" hash solvers for the main BIOS passwords, like:

http://dogber1.blogspot.it/2009/05/table-of-reverse-engineered-bios.html

http://www.bios-pw.org/

but again it depends on specific make/model.

Some models may have an actual encryption on the hard disk, in which case it is possible that one can gain access to the hard disk, but loose all data.

Not enough data to compute. :(
