Here is the first batch of mainly maintenance fixes.

Changelog and download

Let me know if it broke something that worked in 1.4.9.1, I'm new to all this.

And big thanks to the old pal boooggy for helping me with testing this version.

@nuhi: You should update 7z.exe to v9.20 for the support of LZMA2 algorithm. (I have done this "manually" with 1.4.9.1, no problem, added 7z.dll, but not sure if it is needed).

Hi Nuhi, in TimeZone Update needs to run the http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=120545#120545

RUNDLL32.exe %Destination%\tzchange.dll,SuccessInstallation

because hotfix uses a default registry for all languages, but after the installation run a different configuration in base the location where he works, nothing special just needs to run the command above and all is 100% OK after into every PC in every language ect ect (more or less equal and also the KB2603381 http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=120494&sid=fa4ef5eb90e67d4e081bfb2e85d70be0#120494 )

for compatibility with IE8 AddOn (file 8.3 in mod) is possible to rename\use the msfeedsbs.dll in msfeedsb.dll, because that file is inside the traditional IE8 Cumulative Security Update, is the only file that is not in 8.3 mod, idea is that a user use an AddOn or UpdatePack and after will update the CD adding only new hotfix performing with nLite

in NLITE.inf the reg is added I think in the wrong way, because this line will delete everything that is under

;exampleHKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP4\KBXXXXXX,"Description",,"Security Update for Windows XP (KBXXXXXX)"HKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP4\KBXXXXXX;need to be inHKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP4\KBXXXXXXHKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP4\KBXXXXXX,"Description",,"Security Update for Windows XP (KBXXXXXX)"

Sorry for my english

Ciao.

Awesome! Quite a surprise:) I still use this application all the time :D By the way, any chance to release just the binaries, i a zip file, or a self-extracting .exe? That was avaible for the old version. I hate installers :P

about MRT need to ask the user to be online, and after nLite reading this (that until now at least, it always updates immediately) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891716 can always take last MRT (GUID) Version, always in the case that nLite can not extract the MRT (GUID) Version from MRT.exe

Ciao.

MRT is a boondoggle. -X- doesn't even bother with it. Not worth integrating (inconistent month-to-month - GUID).

THX, nuhi "new to all this". Will try out soon.

GrofLuigi, yes they can.

mooms, during testing I did that but I may have missed the dll so it wasn't working for some. Hm it must have worked for me as I have 7zip installed.

Ok, will replace it.

DXRW4E, tzchange, I'll look into that by observing the change, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

nlite.inf entries, the root entries won't delete or overwrite as the whole section is about AddReg, and you are probably remembering .REG's format [-HKEY/PATH] del command.

But I do agree that it looks better in a sorted way. I will move that in the next version, thanks.

MRT, can you please rephrase, unfortunatelly I don't understand what you are saying? A ok so basically you suggest that nLite integrates MRT, and for that it would need to read GUID of sorts. I'll think about it, thx.

Francesco, I lost count and it didn't really matter, if you find any which gives you error popup on direct integration + reporting enabled in the advanced options, let me know.

aviv00, yeah, too bad they expected nLite itself to support Windows 7+, it is totally different architecture.

Intel1, ok, noted, thx.

submix8c, ;-)

Hi nuhi, you know the inf files better than me, i said that because those line are sometimes a problem, because if they are empty indirectly play the role of the delete, in the inf in windows in general microsoft adds them sometimes just so 'HKCR, KeyName, , ,' or 'HKCR, KeyName, ,0x10' never in 'HKCR, KeyName', eg 'HKCR, KeyName' delete default value of KeyName, and all windows applications (when run EnumKey\EnumValues) do not know after default Values, but as valid Values and void, and this sometimes creates Error\problems, so I said before better to avoid those types of line in AddReg Section, so my report was only be careful there, nothing else

sorry again for my english

Ciao.

Using "mkisofs" instead of standard ISO-engine - the choice isn`t stored and has to set everytime manually.

Edit: Made another run - everything is fine, choice is stored.

nLite.ini:

[General]Language = DeutschCPriority = 2AdvTweaksNoCompatPopPath1 = W:\! XP-BEARBEITUNG_x32\XPCD-Test_1.4.9.3[ISO]ISO_engine = 1
