Grub4dosERROR: an extended memory manager is already installed. xms driver not installed.???? Now you throw Grub4DOS in to RAM solution??? MAKE A NEW THREAD - Grub4DOS is NOT to do with RAM!!! Make new thread in Windows 98 Forum and give ALL DETAILS OF WHAT YOU DO (where INSTALL Grub? MBR? Partition? WHERE? HOW?)!!! YOU MAKE NEW CHANGES BEFORE TEST RAM FIXES!(yes, VERY tired...) rloew
But why in the system, only to see 1022.0MB RAM?Without my Patch, Windows 98 cannot recognize more than approx. 1.15GB of RAM. If it recognizes more than 1.15GB of RAM it will crash.Setting MaxPhysPage limits what Windows recognizes. You will need my Patch if you want to be able to actually use more than 1.15GB of RAM. rloew
Does your Windows 95/98/SE/ME RAM Limitation Patch, is a complete free version? Or watched other versions?http://rloew1.no-ip.com/Programs/Patchm.htmThe Patch is complete. It is not free, the price is stated on the web page you linked. With the Patch, CONFIG.SYS, SYSTEM.INI and SYSTEM.CB do NOT need any modifications for Normal Mode or Safe Mode.Windows will then report the full amount of RAM.
