Office 2000 patches after SP3

I have uploaded my own collection of Office 2000 post SP3 hotfixes which includes all non-security hotfixes by request (HBR). Download it here. It includes security updates in the root of the folder, and other stuff (non-security hotfixes, CD3 updates in other folders). I believe it will update everyone's Office 2000 to newest file version builds. I also have newest HBR for Office XP post SP3 and Office 97 post SP2 if anyone wants.

Yes... It's a matter of principles to stick or not with stuff that needs "sign-up", "login", "sign-in" a.o.

The same situation for freebies that need "like", "tweet", "circles", "friends" etc.

Principles, nothing more.

Just my 2 little observations:

- Update 01. KB818798 (Office update): updates the MSO9.dll file to Version 9.0.0.7616 (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818798/en-us).

I think that (basing only on files) it is surpassed by 'Security Update for Microsoft Office 2000 (KB947361) that updates the Mso9.dll file to Version 9.0.0.8968 05-Feb-2008 (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms08-016).

- Update 04. KB920822 (Office update): updates the Vbe6.dll file to Version 6.4.99.72 05-Jul-2006 (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms06-047).

I think that it is surpassed by 'Security Update for Office 2000 (KB944425), which updates the Vbe6.dll file to Version 6.5.10.24 10-May-2007 as stated by MS! (see also http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms08-013 on KB944425 , and http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms06-047 on KB920822).

Mediafire appears to be a good place to upload to without having to sign up, although I'm quite sure that you would have to sign up to "upload" something. Be aware of ramifications of proprietary software.

Do MSFNer have any file sharing service to recommend which doesn't delete files and doesn't require any client to upload?

I found minus dot com and jumbofiles dot com to allow UL and DL without any "log", but I don't know how much time they keep the files.

At first glance, it seems you are right, but as I stated in my post, the list of patches is the result of Office Update method at that time; and WSUS told me the same. I did not make other investigations, except the MSO 2007 related ones. Well, in case your observations are accurate, the worst thing to happen is to install two obsolete patches. For me, I'll take the risk and until future researches (not mine) I'll trust MS, yet (which is or not a good idea?)

In regards to the links shown for the Office 2000 patches in post #15 in this thread, is there an MD5 , SHA1 and CRC32, plus other information, as shown here ?

I just need to be sure the file is "genuine".

Where can I download MD5 , SHA1 and a CRC checker for Windows XP Pro please ?

1 - ??? No... but the EXE are MS-signed.

2 - HashMyFiles

You can use MS CRC.EXE and MS FCIV.EXE to confirm the CRC32 and MD5 hashes, but you must extract the latter from inside KB841290, since the installer refuses to run on Win 9x, but FCIV.EXE itself runs OK on Win 9x.

If you prepare this on an NT-type system (2K and up), HashMyFiles is excellent (stumbled across on MSFN - worth re-mentioning...).

I just wanted to bring this back from the dead. The original untouched files can be accessed from the Internet Archive (WayBack Machine) from the original Microsoft pages:

I highly recommend the administrative updates; these are larger files but should prevent you from being prompted to find your CD!
