bpalone Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I just recently acquired Office 2000 Pro and suddenly found that I couldn't update it. In my searching, I discovered that I was not alone. It seems that Microsoft no longer keeps this file available for download. The file missing is O2ksr1aDL.exe.I did find it at the following link and it scanned clean and worked.http://www.4shared.com/account/file/42744856/bfcf9c41/O2KSR1aDL.htmlThese are other links I found and are still active:http://affordableitguy.com/downloads/O2KSR1aDl.exeand ftp://ftp.uni-rostock.de/pub/tools/microsoft/ServicePacks/Office9/us/SR1/O2KSR1aDL.EXEJust thought this might help someone else trying to find it.Thought I might include the file size: 51.3 MB (53816506 bytes)
submix8c Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 MS is aware of the "problem".Many places to get it from.
ilikewindows Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I had a previous SR1a which I had obtained from Microsoft but I had unpacked the files and deleted the installer file. Now I want the installer file so I went to your first link and downloaded their file.I went ahead and uncompressed the files from the newly downloaded file and then did a file comparison between my original unpacked files and the new ones. They all checked out fine.Basically I am just concurring that the file downloaded from 4shared.com has the same contents as the original one provided by Microsoft.

submix8c Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) For those concerned about the validity of (any of above linked) downloaded file -1 - search for and download HashMyFiles (free and stand-alone, i.e. no installer - unzip and run)2 - Open the downloaded file with it and compare to -Filename - o2ksr1adl.exeMD5 - 0b076ecf291eb9b1a1f690cb5a1005c8SHA1 - 4bc506902b13dd1eaa5f5c66c4cb03000d92af04CRC32 - 0a842a40Size - 53,816,504Version - 4.71.1015.0 Edited May 26, 2011 by submix8c

submix8c Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I downloaded the file from here, and the check sums didn't agree, so tried the same file from another OS, and that agreed with the first download I tried ?? Here are the values(blah-blah...)The length is an extra 2 bytes, that would change the values no doubt. I hope the file is okay.1 - What exactly do you MEAN "from a different OS"? You mean from a "different WEBSITE"???2 - The file you downloaded (oddly) has an ADDITIONAL hex-0D0A (CR/LF or Carriage-Return + Line-Feed). Why that should be there, I have NO clue! Mine came DIRECTLY from MS in (downloaded in 2009 when it was still accessible). I believe that it has NO relevance (more than likely IGNORED) and those LAST TWO BYTES cold be DELETED in a Hex Editor and the Checksums will match!BTW, did you even use the Google Search I provided in your OTHER THREAD? The FIRST ONE in the Google Search Results was EXACTLY the one (dated May 2000).Couldn't you have stuck to that thread and posted your "results and question" in the SAME POST you just made over THERE? TWO posts, SAME SUBJECT!Stop Bumping Post Counts!!!!See rules #2a and #10. For anyone ELSE reading this, the INSTRUCTIONS to find a GOOD one (and there are BAD ones out there as well, or maybe REPACKS due to LANGUAGE - do NOT use REPACKS!) are this -Google"o2ksr1adl.exe" intitle:index.ofInfo on Changing Language.
dencorso Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 My own copy of o2ksr1adl.exe was downloaded directly from MS, too, way back when. It does, as expected, have the properties reported by submix8c, that is:Filename - o2ksr1adl.exeMD5 - 0b076ecf291eb9b1a1f690cb5a1005c8SHA1 - 4bc506902b13dd1eaa5f5c66c4cb03000d92af04CRC32 - 0a842a40Size - 53,816,504Version - 4.71.1015.0By appending CR,LF (0x0D,0x0A) bytes to the end of o2ksr1adl.exe, with a hexeditor, it grows by two bytes and then presents the following properties (exactly as reported by Peter): MD5 6d16df5656e17b90a6b722ff5941681eSHA1 ccc9b51364004759521cce79333f04eced6336a8CRC32 3f6009fbSo the file Peter downloaded is bona-fide and can be used safely. It's not that uncommon to get files with some bytes appended to the end of the, usually either CR,LF or some zeroes. They cause no harm, nor modify the functioning of the installer in any way. Sometimes, some trailing zeroes get deleted also... And then it's more complicated, because they must be restored by trial and error... Both are part of those mysteries of the internet that are better left alone...

Have now installed O2ksr1adl.exe , and then downloaded SP3 from MS site, and that is now installed also.Peter
