Mim0 Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 Hi Mimo!I just tried the latest File Checker, file named hfslipfc-091213.zip, with hfslipfc.cmd dated 12/13/2009 11:58 pm, against HFSLIP files put together using your update list dated 12/11 EXACTLY, with the following results: (note the heading "File-Checker (Build 2009/12/11)")E:\HFSLIP>hfslipfc.cmd------------------------------------------File-Checker (Build 2009/12/11) for HFSLIPSee following site for further details:people.freenet.de/MisterMoster/hfslip.htm------------------------------------------HFSLIPFC will report missing, obsolete andunknown updates for Windows XP SP3.Start this from your HFSLIP-folder.Service Pack included in source = SP3Language: ENU (EN-US)Selected components:Internet Explorer = IE8Windows Media Player = WMP11Remote Desktop Client = RDC7folders to check = HF\*.*;HFGUIRUNONCE\*.*;HFCABS\*.*;HFSVCPACK\*.*;HFSVCPACK_SW1\*.*Update-lists = hfslipfc.cmdList missing optional updates = 1------------------------------------------(:-) 2009 Mimo------------------------------------------Press any key to continue . . .Check for wrong, obsolete and unknown updates:----------------------------------------------Unknown: HF\KB961742-v3.exeUnknown: HF\windows-kb890830-v3.2.exeUnknown: HF\WindowsRightsManagementServicesSP2-KB917275-Client-ENU-x86.exeUnknown: HF\windowsupdateagent30-x86.exeUnknown: HF\WindowsXP-KB898461-x86-ENU.exeUnknown: HF\WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exeobsolete: HF\WindowsXP-KB954459-x86-ENU.exe (MS08-069: XML Core Services (MSXML6), replaced by KB973687)obsolete: HF\WindowsXP-KB955069-x86-ENU.exe (MS08-069: XML Core Services (MSXML3), replaced by KB973687)Unknown: HF\WindowsXP-KB968930-x86-ENG.exeobsolete: HF\WindowsXP-KB969898-x86-ENU.exe (ActiveX Kill Bits Update Rollup, replaced by KB973346)Unknown: HFCABS\IEAWSDC.CABUnknown: HFCABS\LegitCheckControl.cabUnknown: HFCABS\MUAuth.cabUnknown: HFCABS\MuCatalogWebControl.cabUnknown: HFCABS\muweb_site.cabUnknown: HFCABS\OGAControl.cabUnknown: HFCABS\opuc4.cabUnknown: HFCABS\wuweb_site.cabUnknown: HFSVCPACK\drive_autorun.regUnknown: HFSVCPACK\WindowsXP_KB968389_x86.regCheck missing updates for Windows XP SP3:-----------------------------------------Check missing updates for IE8:------------------------------Check missing updates for WMP11:--------------------------------Check missing updates for RDC7:-------------------------------The following things cannot be checked automatically (so far):--------------------------------------------------------------- Adobe Flash Player (in SWFLASH.CAB) must be 10.0.42.34- The Roots Certificates Update (rootsupd.exe) must be 23.0.2195.0Press any key to continue . . .E:\HFSLIP>I thought that several of the unknown items were supposed to be taken care of in this latest version. Also, all 3 of the files that are flagged as obsolete are still listed in Table 2 as required, and in fact, the file your program lists as the appropriate replacement for KB969898, ie KB973346, is listed in Table 7 as being replaced itself by KB973525.I also noticed that Kiki Burgh is having problems with WindowsXP-KB968930-x86-ENG.exe in the post above. I assume I will, too, since I'm trying basically the same setup. Any idea what's going on?Please don't misunderstand in any way. I think that this program and your list are absolutely GREAT and you do a fantastic job keeping it up to date and being responsive to anyone with a problem. I can see this program evolving into something along the lines of Autopatcher, or using a download mechanism similar to what's used in this tool, where you would check off the various options you want included, IE8, WMP11, etc, and it goes off and downloads all the current updates that HFSLIP needs and puts them in the correct folder for you, if you don't have them there already, and then it gives you the option of going ahead and running HFSLIP, or not - if you want to change anything. Anyway, I can dream.Looking forward to your reply.Cheers and Regards.Hi,the listet "unknowns" shall de fixed in the next release.Regarding MSXML-updates I have the list correctedKB968930: no sorry, no idea. I don't tried it.Mimo

Parseus Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 (edited) The newest version of HFSLIPFC still shows some updates as unknown:Check for wrong, obsolete and unknown updates:----------------------------------------------unknown: HF\windows-kb890830-v3.2.exeunknown: HF\WindowsXP-KB898461-x86-PLK.exeunknown: HF\WindowsXP-KB915865-v11-x86-PLK.exeunknown: HF\WindowsXP-KB958655-v2-x86-ENU.exeunknown: HF\WindowsXP-KB961118-x86-PLK.exeCheck missing updates for Windows XP SP3:-----------------------------------------missing (O): HF\WindowsXP-KB915865-v11-x86-ENU.exe (XMLLite)As you can see from my log, I have Polish version of XMLLite, but it's listed as unknown. bfc_xxx Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Mimo You should change:O|HF\WindowsXP-KB915865-v11-x86-ENU.exe|XMLLite -> O|HF\WindowsXP-KB915865-v11-x86-!lang!.exe|XMLLiteThere is KB915685 update for all languages! Also can you add a check when uphclean-setup-x86-2-0-48.msi is present to ignore if UPHClean-Setup.msi is missing??
Mim0 Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 @Parseus & bfc_xxx THX for reporting this. I'll fix it!!! Bye, Mimo
Parseus Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I've also found this:Check for wrong, obsolete and unknown updates:----------------------------------------------unknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb928788-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb929773-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb932390-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb933547-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb935551-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb935552-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb939209-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb944882-x86-intl.exeunknown: HF\windowsmedia11-kb954069-x86-intl.exeThese updates are optional fixes for WMP11, can you add these to Your list? I have also few suggestions for Your list:- add to Your list IMAPI_XP_SRV2003_x86.exe (article KB952011) - this is an optional "Image Mastering API Update for Blu-Ray Media" (folder for this update: HFSVCPACK_SW1);- change article for SmartCard_XP_x86.exe to KB952013 and change folder to HF/HFSVCPACK_SW1 (you can put this update to HF, if you rename it to WindowsXP-KB952013-x86-lang.exe);- for WindowsXP-KB968930-x86-ENG.exe change folder to HF - putting it in HF works in 100% for me.

NtegrA Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 With regards to UPHClean-Setup.msi... On your table 3, shouldn't the folder be HFSVCPACK_SW1 not HFGUIRUNONCE?
Tomalak Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) EDIT: I didn't notice it before, but XMLLite slipstreaming doesn't work for XP with SP3 in HFSLIP (it shows 0 files copied)Of course, because it's not necessary. XMLlite is already included in Service Pack 3. See here, and KB915865 is also directly listed here.Take Mim0's list with a grain of salt as there seem to be some minor issues with it, and do not blindly include everything just because it's listed there...Kind regards,Tomalak Edited December 28, 2009 by Tomalak

Take Mim0's list with a grain of salt as there seem to be some minor issues with it, and do not blindly include everything just because it's listed there...Yes. The content of table 2 (Security updates) should be mandatory but the optional things are also a result of members here. But I also DO NOT include all of the the optional things. And I don't have the time to check all of them. I really need just these infos here (e.g. to XMLlite)!Mimo
