Edit: This is ****** up.. I mounted and extracted win7 to "f:\7costumiser\dvd", did what i did earlier (tweaks, updates, LPs unattended) and when pressing apply it says it doesnt support a vista rtm ? what the hell?

Im ceirtan i extracted the win7 iso, it even says windows 7 when i run the setup.exe ..

Ideas ?

Man you do not have to curse and swear like a kid. Just take it easy. Anyways, if you have trouble with dism just reinstall it aqnd extract your iso again.

7Customizers already integrates .cab files.

Edit: I confirmed it.. 7C only creates the unattended file.. but doesnt integrate LP nor winupdates :/

What do you mean?

It is already confirmed that 7Customizer integrates languages and updates. If you have trouble just enable debug mode and see what is going on.

Im saying that integrating all my updates, LP and creating the unattended file took 3 seconds, but it seems like all it did was to create the unattended file and nothing more.

Yea ill take a closer look using debug mode, it was little late when i wrote that i guess.

I think you need to reinstall WAIK if dism is creating problems for you.

BTW , you remind me of myself when I started my job. I was shouting and swearing in everybody face like I am the manager or something :lol:.

But know I changed my attitude and behavior.

Anyways, if you face problems use the debug mode and post your screen-shots

It seemes I forget to set the value for the defragment service combo box. If you go to the services tab, you will find that the defragment service combo box is blank.

Anyways I will release a minor update to fix this issue.

It is easier to use but troublesome to implement. Also, in the next or after the next release I will make services sortable by name or status. It would be a lot easier if I use combo boxes.

Could be easier to read the text in the cmd windows instead of in a logfile but what do i know :P

Hi... May I just point out these programs are useful really ONLY for mass deplyment scenarios and NOT home user single computer deployments.

That is, stripping an ISO is good (ok so a GUI for dism is useful). But integrating drivers/LPs all this... is for a home user 200 times easier and time saving just capturing a WIM :)

I personally am working on my own revamp of nlite / '7lite'

my ideas are similar to utilize commandline/ batch

starting with a ';;;' deliminated file that parses through a for statement

each section of the deliminator represents a string - filename, download location etc.

once i have the first version put together i will post.

i am utilizing wget, 7zip, and a visual basic gui.

as for working on 7 i was more intersted in using the command tools in the waik.

building a list of absolutely free and open source software to put in these lists with unattended/silent install seems to be the difficult part.

i was able to reverse engineer tgup for antvir & found a way of installing aim 7 silently.

obviously lists like this make it really simple for updates & keeping track of what apps are upto date.

my goal was xmas - in current phase i can say xp pro / home / mce /tablet unattended should be supported... as far as 7 that i am holding off till i finish xp ...

i did find ways of slipstreaming sp3 into mce without it crippling the product -

either way - my goal is one gui for xp & windows 7...

i have off thurs to sat this week & code for my free time (no kids no family etc.)

i will let you know where i end up on sat night. Currently all i have is a datagrid that can open this deliminated file & save & some user input to post into that grid - along with tinyurl api to change urls so that the dos batch doesn't go batty when it runs for accross it.

I think this tool will not be used by normal home user. It will be mostly used by advanced people.

BTW, the main goal of this tool it is a customized installation source (not how deploy that source). The deployment procedure is left to the user.

I recommend using C# instead of visual basic. Also, do not bother with Windows XP since nlite already does all the stuff we need for XP. Just focus on Windows 7.
